[마크 피터슨] Harvard-Trained Korean Studies Scholar Reunites with Students in South Korea
Mark Peterson, a renowned scholar of Korean studies and professor emeritus at Brigham Young University, returned to South Korea alongside his former students 27 years after their initial 1999 summer school program. The emotional journey was documented in the 433rd episode of MBC every1’s 'Welcome, First Time in Korea?', which aired on June 18. Having first visited Korea in 1965, Peterson has dedicated over 60 years to the study of the nation. Throughout the episode, he showcased his deep connection to Korean culture, including his personal collection of historical family records and his long-term efforts to increase the inclusion of Korean history in American textbooks, a mission that involved conducting 52 seminars over 26 years.
