[박찬욱] Renowned Director Park Chan-wook Receives France's Highest Cultural Honor
Director Park Chan-wook, currently serving as the jury president for the 79th Cannes Film Festival, has been awarded the 'Commandeur' of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, the highest grade of France's cultural and artistic merit order. The ceremony took place in Cannes on May 17, with French Minister of Culture Rachida Dati presiding over the event. Park becomes the fourth Korean to receive this honor and the first Korean filmmaker to achieve the distinction. Following the ceremony, the acclaimed director expressed his deep gratitude and revealed his long-term ambition to produce a film in France with French actors.
